§ 5-5. Statement of inventory filed; sale limited.

It shall be the duty of the person owning the stock of merchandise to be offered at an auction sale to file with the city tax collector a sworn descriptive inventory of each article of merchandise intended for sale. It shall be unlawful for any person to sell any article at such auction sale not contained in such descriptive inventory. Such inventory shall be filed with the auctioneer's bond, and sworn to by the owner of such stock of merchandise, or, if a corporation, it shall be sworn to by the president, secretary, treasurer or local manager of such corporation.
