§ 18-11. Enforcement of criminal law.

It shall be the duty of each member of the police department, upon information furnished him, or upon his knowledge, of any violation of the provisions of this Code, other ordinances of the city or of the laws of the state, to secure proper warrants for the arrest and trial of any offenders against such provisions, ordinances or laws, and to furnish the courts the names of all such witnesses for the prosecution of such violators as may be known to him.
